Girl’s Gun Night: Shot thru the heart
I spent Valentine’s evening with my sister shooting handguns. Wednesday is ladies night at Reed’s Indoor Range, so it was quite cheap.
Previously, we had done a Girl’s Gun Night in December and more people came. Valentine’s day is usually more booked for people. A couple of friends thought they would come, but ended up with one kind of commitment or another. That wasn’t surprising at all.
What was surprising was the amount of our male counterparts that really abhor guns in any form. Keith and John would have nothing to do with it, even if they didn’t have other plans. Maureen said George would’ve been afraid of the mere idea of her shooting a gun. (Which I suppose is not exactly the same…) Candice’s Jorge didn’t appear hot on the idea either.
At any rate, we had a pretty good time. We both tried bigger guns than last time. Maureen shot a 9mm and I rented a 38 special. I wasn’t quite ready for a 38, so next time I’ll probably go back to the 22.
