Today I feel: Pretty good, although a little of yesterday afternoon’s headache revisited this afternoon.
Today I did: Read journal articles. Unfortunately, some were crap. Went to have lunch with Shiaw-Ling, and she said that today is Candice‘s birthday! If I had known in advance, I would have bought ponies. However, I have many cool gifts from Japan that I have stashed for just such an occasion. We ate at Red Robin in Rivermark. The whole Human Computing staff and Candice’s newlywed husband, George, came. Fun was had by all. The gang was proud to show off their Eskimo Grandmother aspect of their ComicBase upgrade campaign. Eskimo Grandmother (a Candice Lucado original) has been seen around the office, prior, but she’s not the usual mainstream advertising figure, if you know what I mean…
TV I’m watching: Mostly just in the same room as Keith watches “Cops“.
What I’m reading: Journal articles, such as “Developing a Typology of Humor in Audiovisual Media”. Throne room reading is Penny Arcade: Attack of the Bacon Robots! (Another great humor comic. Not very carnivalesque, though…)
What I’m looking forward to: A new Project Runway tomorrow!
Current pet peeve: My cat smells like mildew. Why?
Days until thesis is DUE: 10…

Today I feel: Kinda like yesterday.
Today I did: A fair amount of reading, but not as much as I should have. ALSO taped “What’s Up Wit’ That?” where we had the Renaissance Faire as the subject. Sir Francis Drake and the General Manager, Lisa Stehl were our guests. It was a great show. It kept me on my toes. Keith has gone up to capture the tape right now. Don’t forget that you can see past episodes on Google Video.
TV I’m watching: “What’s Up Wit’ That?” at KMVT (Does it count as watching while you’re making it?)
What I’m reading: Bakhtin and GTO.
What I’m looking forward to: Arisa visiting this weekend and grog tasting at Maureen’s.
Current pet peeve: My inadequate ALS reminder band. (C’mon people, ever heard of contrasting lettering? Everyone thinks it’s for AIDS (a very worthy cause, but I have a silver bracelet for that), or the Red Cross. Also, how about putting the name of the disease in a visible spot? Cancer can get away with it because of Lance Armstrong, but ALSA doesn’t have anyone famous shilling the reminder bands. If I’m going to wear an ugly reminder band (I don’t really care for them–they look cheap), I at least want it to properly convey the message it should.)

Today I feel: Like a cat with bacon taped to it. (OK, I couldn’t resist, but it’s fairly accurate.)
Today I did: Reading. Must finish Bakhtin. Soon. Must write paper. Soon.
TV I’m watching: TV? There’s TV? No, actually, I’ve been making Keith watch Survivor: Guatemala over dinner the last couple of nights, 1/2 hour at a time. What’s that? S:G was last fall’s Survivor? Well, then I guess we have to get around to watching them, then, huh… Spoilers will be dealt with pain. (Thx, Grexican)
What I’m reading: Rabelais and His World, by Mikhail Bakhtin. “Throneroom” reading is GTO, which oddly fits quite well with the theory of the carnivalesque.
What I’m looking forward to: Taping “What’s Up Wit’ That?” tomorrow. Our guests will be from the Ren Faire, yay!
Current pet peeve: Not understanding the slide scanner yet.

The 10 things (apparently) Loretta needs:
1. Loretta needs to have a mother and father with no other children.
2. Loretta needs to get copies of her credit reports directly from the credit reporting bureaus themselves.
3. Loretta needs to return to ’04′.
4. Loretta needs to team up with Jack White again!
5. Loretta needs a back up!
6. Loretta needs to play with his ‘little ball of yarn’ more often.
7. Loretta needs to make up her mind.
8. Loretta needs to add some of her website items and do auto-ship please.
9. Loretta needs a full day off.
10. Loretta needs and deserves a better box set than this one.

Today I feel: Happy. I had a lot of fun today, but I’m still sore from yesterday’s visit to the Ren Faire.
Today I did: Helped Arisa and Ayako move into their dorm. Then Keith and I went to John’s farewell BBQ for the Summer. Then Keith and I came home to do laundry and enjoy our empty house.
TV I’m watching: Not a lot, currently Cops.
What I’m looking forward to: Setting up my sewing machine, working on the library.
Current pet peeve: Fruit flies.

Today I feel: Not all there. They day after I dye is sort of a seclusion day for me, and it always feels a bit weird.
Today I did: Not a lot. Some cleaning of various things. A lot of staying out of Keith‘s way. Found the instructions for Spammers and printed a new copy. Enjoyed catching Shiaw-Ling up on Project Runway. I did some embroidery while she watched.
TV I’m watching: Project Runway, natch. Keith also played some more Psychonauts.
What I’m looking forward to: Playing a board game or card game with friends. Atmosfear, Spammers, or Wabbit Wampage are all fun.
Current pet peeve: A big pimple on my jaw that hasn’t erupted yet. It hurts.

Today I feel: Good. Today was a good day.
Today I did: Cheered up my friend Pete at Human Computing by having lunch with him and the beautiful, charming, and evil (in a good way), Shiaw-Ling. I finally mailed a package that I’ve had laying around for a year (I’m a bad correspondent :^( ). I finally colored my hair again. It was fuchsia, ick! Now it’s back to my lovely deep purple. Of course, when I color my hair, parts of me also become a lovely deep purple. *sigh* Tomorrow I hide and wait for my skin to become pale and lovely again.
TV I’m watching: Project Runway, with Keith, since he didn’t see it yet. And I watched him play Psychonauts. It’s a pretty cool game, but it really messes with your head.
What I’m looking forward to: Helping Shiaw-Ling get caught up on Project Runway this weekend. I also want to play a board game with friends, soon. Preferably, Atmosfear.
Current pet peeve: My cat Whisper. He’s very naughty and I don’t understand why.

Today I feel: Good. Coughing a little more than usual for this stage of the game, but what can I do?
Today I did: We taped Keith Explains! It was pretty good, but not one of Keith’s best. He had dental work this morning, and wasn’t feeling his best. I also held a remedial Project Runway marathon for a friend. I’ve also been introducing our new homestay Japanese student, Ayako, to Project Runway. I just love that show.
TV I’m watching: Project Runway!
What I’m looking forward to: a quietish weekend
Current pet peeve: Not making time to color my hair. Also not being able to take care of my current sewing jones.

Today I feel: Good. Still some coughing, but not so common.
Today I did: Keith and I went to breakfast with Arisa, Mrs. Yamada, and Emi. We went to Cozy Kitchen because we wanted them to experience authentic American “greasy spoon” breakfast. It was OK, but I would have rather gone to Original Pancake House in Cupertino/San Jose or Goodie’s in Campbell/San Jose. We were short on time because Emi had to go to the airport for her return flight and Arisa’s brother Keisuke arrived today. Keith and I then went to finally get our Great America VIP passes made. We didn’t go into the park, though. We didn’t feel like it. Getting passes was probably a mistake this year. At home, we cleaned and worked on pet projects. I caught up on several webcomics. I like to save up a month’s worth to read at once.
TV I’m watching: Random stuff: Dirty Jobs, Cops, 3 Minute Cooking, Boondocks
What I’m looking forward to: The Ren Faire starting next week!
Current pet peeve: The blues. Sneaky little bastard. The medicine is supposed to keep you at bay.

Today I feel: Good. I tried my first workout since I got bronchitis. It kicked my butt, but not as bad as I feared. I didn’t cough as much as I have during other exertions in the last week.
Today I did: Worked out. Practiced the new cleaning game I invented that I call “I Know Where That Goes.” As a person who loves to over-complicate things, I often can’t see the trees for the forest. This game helps me to look at individual objects instead of the mess as a whole. So far, the master bed/bath is in the lead. The house is quiet since the girls left yesterday. We can begin to put things back into the guest bedroom.
TV I’m watching: Project Runway (yay!). I like Angela, but that design was crazy. I think Jeffrey is an ass, but his design was hot. So was Michael’s. I hope Michael will win.
What I’m looking forward to: A quiet weekend.
Current pet peeve: Spilling red wine on one of my favorite shirts because I was distracted by my nephews’ antics.
